The University of Vienna, founded in 1365, is one of the oldest and largest universities in Europe, with over 85.000 students en more than 7.500 academic staff.
Dutch Studies is embedded within the Department of European and Comparative Literature and Language Studies. From 1992 through 2023, a BA-, MA- and PhD-curriculum ‘Dutch Studies’ was offered. Since 2023, Dutch Studies can be studied as a ‘minor’ (30 ECTS).
Together with six partner universities in Central Europe, Dutch Studies in Vienna developed the international BA-programme ‘Dutch Language, Literature and Culture in a Central European Context’ (DCC).
