DCC Doctoral Summer School

The DCC Doctoral School for the Dutch Studies has been organised as a summer school in Central Europe every two years since 2017. It was initiated by Herbert van Uffelen (from the University of Vienna) in cooperation with a group of teachers from the DCC network. The main aim of the Doctoral School is to strengthen the position and network of young talent from the region by sharing knowledge. This is done by organising thematic summer schools in which PhD students, as well as advanced master's students, can get acquainted with current themes and recent research results of the field of Dutch Linguistics Literature in an international context and get to know each other and each other's research better in an intellectually stimulating environment. Experienced scholars from various departments are involved in the Doctoral School as lecturers.

Doctoral Summer School 2025 (Wrocław)

From 2025, we will expand both thematically and geographically. For the Doctoral School 2025 Benaderingen van CORPUS in letterkunde en taalkunde [Approaches to CORPUS in Literature and Linguistics], we are seeking applicants from around the world who want to study Dutch linguistics or literature. For more information, see the Call.

The Doctoral School shall be held entirely in Dutch.

Doctoral Summer School 2023 (Olomouc)

The DCC Doctoral School of Dutch Literature took place at Palacký University Olomouc between 6-17 July 2023. Its theme was 'Literature and (post)humanism'.

Doctoral Summer School 2021 (Vienna)

The DCC Doctoral School of Dutch Literature took place at University Vienna between 9-16 July 2021. Its theme was 'Literature and diversity'.

Due to the COVID pandemic, this edition combined synchronous and asynchronous working forms. The lectures (for all participants) took place online, while the workshops (in small groups of 4-5 students) were organised in a hybrid way with some people participating online only.

Doctoral Summer School 2019 (Vienna)

The DCC Doctoral School of Dutch Literature took place at University Vienna between 12-19 July 2019. Its theme was 'Literature and literary studies in the 21st century'.

DCC Doctoral Summer School 2017 (Vienna)

The DCC Doctoral School of Dutch Literature took place at University Vienna between 7-14 July 2017. Its theme was 'The dynamics of reception'.
